Transfer to VU Amsterdam

In Feb 2020 I have moved from my old home at the University of Birmingham (UK) to an exiting new opportunity at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (the Netherlands). I have slightly updated my profile here and also have an (empty) VU page here. At VU I will work as Associate Professor in Drought Risk at the interdisciplinary Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) within the group on Water and Climate Risk and I will contribute to the teaching in the BSc and MSc programmes offered by VU (more website updates will follow later). I will keep my involvement in the PhD projects of Doris Wendt, Lucinda Capewell, and Marit Van Tiel and we have some new VU people to join our group: Gabriela Guimarães Nobre, Marthe Wens, and Raed Hamed. They will introduce themselves later. My focus in Amsterdam will be on Drought Risk research and I’ll be involved in projects in different parts of Africa and Latin America. We’ll keep you posted on all research and teaching news from the extended Birmingham – Amsterdam group.
